Recently a Guardian Solutions member returned from a volunteer aid trip from one of the most devastated parts of the island. “The team arrived at a little town called L’acul very close to the epicenter of the earthquake. Everywhere we looked we saw destruction and people fearful to live inside their homes…”, said J. Paul Melton
"While on this trip the volunteer team set up an electric well with clean water, built three bathrooms, two showers and rebuilt a concrete wall that had been destroyed. Fresh water was provided to a clinic, school and to the community. The smiles on the faces of the children made all the work and effort worthwhile”, continued Melton.
But the work must continue. The team is returning May 1st to begin building as many homes as they can for those that need them. These houses cost approximately $1500 US each.
